2015 Buoncristiani Anderson Valley Pinot Noir - Garagiste
WINEMAKER JAY BUONCRISTIANI'S RECENT TASTING NOTES:
2015 Buoncristiani Pinot Noir Serie di Garagiste, Anderson Valley - 115 cases originally crafted. Ruby garnet hue, very dark for a seven-year-old Pinot Noir. Very nice aromas of black cherry, dark plum, new French oak, soy, molasses, bright bing cherry, hint of high tone toffee candy and showing much younger than expected. Pleasantly surprised. On the palate the Yum factor is through the roof, this is aging excellently. Flavors of bright black cherry, mellow milk chocolate, integrated new French oak, toffee, balanced acidity, soft and plush satin-like finish. My recommendation drink this now or over the next 2-3 years, but honestly, it is tasting so great and in the zone right now, that it would be hard to wait any longer knowing what I just found out after popping the cork! Another gem among our library wines.
ORIGINAL TECHNICAL NOTES:
The Garagiste series was created to highlight blends of exceptional vineyards that we source each vintage. As showcased in our La Famiglia wine club, Serie Garagiste pays homage to our pre-commercial winemaking garage days where we would share the very best of our winemaking endeavors with our closest family and friends.
Our 2015 Pinot Noir stems from three noble clones strategically sourced from two amazing properties in Mendocino: the famed Bearwallow vineyard in the heart of Anderson Valley, and the majestic Alder Springs Vineyard 2000 feet above the Mendocino Coast. This Pinot is more full throttle with the Buoncristiani signatures of power, concentration and balance yet with the varietal signatures of grace and elegance. Experience a concentrated style of Pinot with ripe black cherry, orange peel, vanilla, clove, cedar spice, and tea leaf. There is a core of red fruits balanced with bright acidity and a plush long finish.
